Force Information Systems Ltd is pleased to announce the release of Centurion England & Wales version 7.6.0. This release delivers important legislative changes, targeted fault fixes, and functional enhancements focused on document management, data integrity, and user experience.
Legislative Compliance
Version 7.6.0 introduces changes mandated by the Police (Conduct, Performance and Complaints and Misconduct) Regulations 2025, coming into effect on 28 May 2025. These include support for dismissal during vetting and Reg 13, the presumption of dismissal for gross misconduct, treatment of serious criminal convictions as gross misconduct, accelerated hearings for departed officers, and streamlined performance management processes. For guidance about the legislation changes, users are encouraged to refer to the User Release Notes, published to the members area.
Document Management Improvements
This release brings significant enhancements to document handling, including confirmation prompts before document check-in, enforcement of security permissions during check-out, protection against data loss when closing cases with documents still open in Word, and a new 5-second countdown delay before document and folder deletions to allow users to abort.
Stability and Reliability
Several under-the-hood improvements have been made to improve day-to-day reliability, including better database transaction handling during Case Progress saves, a rewritten Workflow Management save process to prevent data loss, and an Outlook availability check before email operations to prevent application freezes.
Application Enhancements
Additional improvements include a new Case Type filter in Weeding Administration, renaming of the LQA panel member type to LQP, and various fixes to case management, allegations, and reporting.
New: Separate Centurion Setup Installer Download
Starting with version 7.6.0, the Centurion Setup Installer is now available as a separate download alongside the main release disk. This smaller, dedicated package contains the setup executable, .NET Framework 4.8 prerequisites, and the installation guide – making it quicker and easier to distribute to client machines without needing the full release disk.
We encourage all Centurion users to upgrade to version 7.6.0 to take advantage of these improvements and maintain compliance with legislative changes.
