FIS had the opportunity to attend the recent NPCC Police Digital Strategy Conference at the ACC Liverpool on October 21st and 22nd 2025. The event brought together senior leaders, IT professionals, and innovators from across UK policing to discuss the future of digital transformation across UK law enforcement.
Collaboration and Reform
Speakers throughout the event emphasised the importance of simplifying digital systems across policing. A shared message emerged: improving communication, interoperability, and data consistency between police services and private sector suppliers is essential to deliver faster and fairer outcomes.
By focusing on collaboration and shared standards, the policing community aims to reduce duplication, modernise processes, and increase efficiency.
Responsible Innovation
Discussions highlighted how new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are transforming policing. Speakers stressed the need to ensure that these tools are used responsibly, transparently, and ethically – maintaining public trust while supporting officers with smarter systems. There was a strong sense of momentum behind building frameworks to guide safe innovation and the responsible adoption of new technologies.
Data-Driven Insights
Across multiple sessions, attendees discussed how better use of data can improve both operational efficiency and public confidence. From modern analytics to more integrated systems, police services are seeking new ways to turn data into actionable insight – improving performance, accountability, and service delivery. National efforts to align data standards and improve analytical capability were also seen as vital to this transformation.
Partnership and Service
A recurring theme throughout the event was the value of partnership between policing and the private sector. Technology suppliers were encouraged to focus not only on product innovation, but also on providing high-quality, hands-on support that helps police forces achieve meaningful outcomes. This relationship-driven approach was seen as key to accelerating transformation and sustaining long-term success.
Looking Ahead
The conference underscored that digital transformation is an ongoing journey – one that requires commitment, collaboration, and adaptability. As new strategies and frameworks emerge, there is a growing emphasis on continuous innovation, shared learning, and the simplification of technology across forces.
FIS is proud to engage in these conversations and remains committed to supporting the policing community in building a more connected, data-driven, and future-ready environment.
